Marking is an important part of The Bloodharvest. To do this, simply aim and shoot at an object of interest such as a crate, blood, or other points of interest.
For Scavengers, this is a key part of expanding map awareness, as your team can see where an objective is, or where a key health crate is in their time of need. Hunters will not see what Scavengers have marked, so take advantage of this in order to give your team as much information as possible.
Hunters can also use this to trick Scavengers into revealing themselves. When a Hunter shoots or marks a target, it becomes “hacked”, meaning any Scavengers who interacts with the object becomes “REVEALED” and draws attention to themselves instead. These hacked crates have a faint, red glow which is visible to a keen-eyed Scavanger. Crates lose their hacked status after a short time.
Hunters will know when a Scavenger has interacted with a hacked crate via an audio cue, and the Scavanger being visible via a red aura. This effect expires after a few second but can also be cancelled by certain vambrace powers.
